CECT CVJ (CT Scan cranio-vertebral junction with contrast)

CECT CVJ is a diagnostic CT scan performed using intravenous contrast dye to provide enhanced visualization of the cranio-vertebral junction, where the skull base meets the upper cervical spine. It helps assess soft tissues, blood vessels, inflammatory changes, tumors, infections, and extension of lesions involving the atlas (C1), axis (C2), and surrounding structures. The use of contrast allows better differentiation between normal and abnormal tissues, especially when non-contrast CT findings are inconclusive. CECT CVJ is often advised in complex cases involving suspected tumors, infections, or post-traumatic complications.
