MRI Tongue is a non-invasive imaging test used to obtain detailed images of the tongue, floor of the mouth, and surrounding soft tissues. It is especially useful for detecting and staging tongue cancers, assessing tumors, cysts, infections, inflammatory conditions, and congenital abnormalities. MRI provides excellent soft tissue contrast, allowing clear differentiation between normal and abnormal tissues without radiation exposure. Contrast dye may be used to better define lesions, assess tumor extent, and evaluate involvement of adjacent structures. This scan is commonly recommended for patients with tongue swelling, pain, ulcers, speech or swallowing difficulty, or suspected oral cavity malignancies.
