Cardiolipin Antibodies – IgG are autoantibodies directed against cardiolipin, a phospholipid found in cell membranes and platelets. This test is a key investigation for antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), an autoimmune disorder characterized by recurrent blood clots, pregnancy complications (such as recurrent miscarriages), and thrombocytopenia. IgG cardiolipin antibodies are considered the most clinically significant subtype and are strongly associated with thrombotic risk. Results are interpreted alongside IgM/IgA cardiolipin antibodies, lupus anticoagulant testing, and clinical features.
