LH (Leutinising Hormone)

LH (Luteinising Hormone) is a hormone produced by the pituitary gland that plays a crucial role in regulating reproductive function in both males and females. In women, LH triggers ovulation and supports menstrual cycle regulation, while in men it stimulates testosterone production in the testes. The LH blood test helps diagnose infertility, menstrual irregularities, delayed or early puberty, and pituitary disorders. Abnormal LH levels may indicate conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), ovarian failure, testicular dysfunction, or hormonal imbalance. This test is often interpreted alongside FSH, prolactin, estrogen, or testosterone levels for comprehensive hormonal evaluation.
