P- ANCA

P-ANCA (Perinuclear Anti-Neutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibodies) is an immunological blood test that detects antibodies directed against components of neutrophils, most commonly myeloperoxidase (MPO). These antibodies are associated with autoimmune vasculitis and inflammatory conditions such as microscopic polyangiitis, ulcerative colitis, and certain forms of rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis. The test helps support diagnosis in patients presenting with unexplained inflammation, kidney involvement, gastrointestinal symptoms, or systemic vasculitis features. P-ANCA testing is often interpreted alongside C-ANCA and other autoimmune markers to improve diagnostic accuracy and guide clinical management.
