Phospholipid IgG Antibodies

Phospholipid IgG Antibodies is an immunological blood test that detects IgG antibodies directed against phospholipids or phospholipid-binding proteins. These antibodies are commonly associated with antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), an autoimmune condition linked to abnormal blood clot formation and recurrent pregnancy loss. Elevated IgG antiphospholipid antibodies may increase the risk of venous or arterial thrombosis, stroke, and pregnancy complications. This test is often ordered in patients with unexplained blood clots, prolonged clotting times, autoimmune disorders, or recurrent miscarriages. Results are usually interpreted along with lupus anticoagulant and phospholipid IgM antibody tests for accurate diagnosis.
